TOC Salesperson – Contract Position Posting
Job Description
This is a contract position providing continuity and effective management of securing advertising and corporate sponsorship for the annual Brandon Tournament of Champions, held in February.  Initial duties will be to contact local businesses for sponsorship.   Report directly to the Brandon Tournament of Champions Chairperson. 
 
Position Pre-requisites include:
 

• Extensive sales experience knowledge. 
• Sales driven to actively seek out and engage customers. 
• General knowledge of Hockey 
• The ability to work effectively and independently. 
• Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
• Customer service skills, including problem solving and handling customer complaints.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs 

 
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• The Salesperson position with the Tournament of Champions will be responsible for selling advertising and corporate sponsorship of the Tournament of Champions. 
• The Salesperson will be responsible for making sales contacts and meetings with potential clients. 
• The Salesperson will have a company representative sign the sponsorship letter, and will indicate what level of sponsorship/advertisement has been sold, and the value of the sale.  This will be considered the commitment from the client.  This document will be Tournament of Champions record of agreement for the sale.  The Salesperson is responsible for turning these letters back into the Hockey Brandon office to be compensated and billing can be started. 
• The Salesperson will use their own vehicle and all vehicle expenses (including fuel) will be the Salespersons responsibility. 
• The Salesperson will be responsible for keeping the Tournament of Champions Chairperson up-to-date on all sales as they occur. 
• Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships. 

 
Specific Duties:
 
The TOC Salesperson shall also:
 

• Submit ads by a specific deadline for the TOC program and any signage.  
• Must proof all program ads and signage
• Follow-up with all sponsors after the TOC with a thank you letter. 
• Respond to all correspondence, emails and telephone messages in a timely manner
• Meeting or exceeding sales goals

 
Specific Tools:

• Computer and internet access
• Driver’s License
• Reliable vehicle

 
Contract Period and Compensation:

• Primary months September to January. 
• Compensation/Commission will be determined. 
• This contract will be for a two-year period.
