Penalties and Suspensions per Hockey Manitoba
 
On behalf of Hockey Brandon and Hockey Manitoba, please find the following information regarding penalties and suspensions.   These are the more common infractions.  This information and other suspension guidelines are found in the Hockey Manitoba handbook and their website. 
 
Some teams that play in other leagues (Hockey Winnipeg, Parkissimo, RMFHL or the SWRHL) may have specific rules that apply to league play.  If not, we follow the regulations set out by Hockey Manitoba.  Leagues may lengthen a suspension, however, they cannot lessen the guidelines set out by our Branch.

We may need to wait until the referee report is received to provide a final ruling.   Referees do not deal with suspensions only penalties.   Please do not question an on-ice official, timekeeper or scorekeeper with regards to a suspension. 
   
Game Ejection:  Does not result in a suspension
3 Stick Infractions (Butt-Ending, Cross-Checking, High Sticking, Slashing or Spearing)
4 Minor Penalties
 
Tournament Play:  Players receiving a Match Penalty or Gross Misconduct, shall be suspended for the balance of the tournament.
